This page is about building a laser engraver upgrade for our CNC router.

The Plan (so far)

  • Use the red laser and the optics of a DVD-RW drive.
  • Build a current regulator circuit controlled by an ATTINY to drive the laser.
  • Build a mount that can be used with our spindle (but prevents turning)
  • Configure and connect the laser head to EMC2
  • Profit
