At least since the Covid-19 pandemic the air quality sensors exist in the Otter Space.

At first Overflo put up a self-built sensor. This sensor is no more, but sensors like these can still be bought at the shop page.

After that the current (state 2025-01-03) sensors came to be:

  • the "Air quality sensor" with a red segmented display, which is located on the wall-mushroom besides the phone. This one only shows values and these values do not get synced anywhere. It serves as a color vision deficient friendly alternative to the stats-display.
The air quality sensor with the red segmented display. This sensor is not networked.
  • the "AirGradient ONE" (Kit Version 9) with the row of colorful LEDs and a small OLED which hangs from the cable duct above the stats-display. The readings get synced into Home Assistant and from there into the stats-display. This device is on permanent loan from anlumo.
The air quality sensor with a white plastic case and a row of identical colored RGB LEDs at the top on the front. It has a small monochrome matrix display which display a little more details. This sensor is indirectly connected to the Dashboard.
A closeup photograph of the statistics display in the otter space. On the photo the page with the environmental statistics of the Metalab is displayed, only the lower right part is visible which shows statistics like: room temperature, CO2 particles, MetaPlant status, count of phone booths, a gauge displaying stats about additional gasses.
