2011-06-18 Demoscene Outreach II en
WTF?
The demo group Speckdrumm invites you to another demoscene outreach event
|
Motivation
The demo scene unifies challenges in the fields of programming, computer graphics and sound design into an appealing set of its own. The various interesting problems sceners are facing today create fine opportunities for talks. The outreach event at the metalab aims to share scene relevant knowledge with interested participants and to create opportunities for networking and general partying. The demo scene will only evolve if new skilled people continue to recognize its appeal and have some fun while at it!
Program
Remark: The given time slots may be subject to change. (Last update: --Paralax 16:57, 9. Mai 2011 (CEST))
Time | Who? | What? |
---|---|---|
14:00-15:00 | Ragnarok | 3D-Modelling in 2011. For resaonable amounts of participants this talk is going to be a workshop. We will create low poly 3D models as a preparation for the seminar talk by Widdy, who will then include those into his code. Participants will need a computer with Wings3D and a mouse with at least 3 buttons (Apple users: you might need to push your envelope on that front!) |
15:00-16:00 | Widdy | 1 1/2 Gamecubes: Programming the Nintendo Wii |
16:00-17:00 | Abductee | Stuff from the demo scene. Abductee will cover $things he may talk about despite his NDAs |
17:00-18:00 | Las | Raymarching. For years, Las has been working on various 4KB intros. Raymarching is a relatively new trend which got very popular in the 4KB scene. Las will explain the principles of this technology and exemplify it by showing demos. |
18:00-19:00 | KB | Things. KB's topic is still to be defined. |
19:00-20:00 | JCO | Making More Noise. JCO plans to continue where he stopped at the last outreach event: with making music. It's all about the interaction with the audience and the moment and the rest will follow from there. |
20:00-open end | Partynight! Tmb will introduce a new live episode of his Blibb Blobb podcast. VJing with Blockbuster, demo scene tracks with Paralax. |
