Hardware
In Metalab
The two primary routers in Metalab are also doing the FunkFeuer routing (one running OLSRd for IPv4, the other one running OLSRd2 for IPv6).
The connection between lab and roof is via four single mode fibres and a 4-wire cable for 24V DC.
On the Roof
Device | "Hostname" | Description |
---|---|---|
ER-X-SFP | DACH1 | Basically just used as a media converter with switchable PoE injector |
ER-X-SFP | DACH2 | Basically just used as a media converter with switchable PoE injector |
NBE-5AC-19 | ? | Link to la12, should be replaced by 60GHz |
NBE-M5-16 | ? | Backup link to wrkch, pretty old hardware |
The idea behind the current setup is to have no single point of failure on the roof as we can not access it immediately in case of any equipment malfunction.
