We meet monthly to discuss various topics related to Web Performance, both front-end and back-end.
Why is this so important?
Google, Amazon and Yahoo! did a research and were able to connect web site performance to hard dollar value:
+100ms → -1% sales (Amazon) * +400ms → -5-9% full-page traffic (Yahoo! Autos front page) ** +500ms → -20% searches (Google) ***
At the same time our pages grow at a great pace and get heavier and heavier: See here
