Metalab Information system is general purpose information display consisting of a Raspberry Pi which sends a teletext signal over composite video to an old Grundig TV and metalab-specific content like our beloved logo, current projects, upcoming events and the toilet status. Contributions to code or software are very welcome. Design your content on using the teletext online editor on edit.tf is recommended. Then ask someone involved and remind them to complete the documentation.
Software
We use github.com/ali1234/raspi-teletext and github.com/peterkvt80/vbit-pi-stream together with custom scripts to populate templates. At the moment, the easiest way to find examples is probably to check crontab and /usr/local/bin or, even better, ask around. I am sorry :)
Keyboard
A custom keyboard has been designed for outdoor usage in front of a window to provide services to the general public, thereby increasing Metalab brand recognition. Besides its innovative design, it features a Teensy 2.0, an infrared LED and custom code to send the correct codes to our Grundig TV.
