sign in to MOS
go to https://metalab.at/calendar/
find the event in question

copy the ical URL. It should look like this:

https://metalab.at/calendar/event/<some-id>/icalendar/

remove the trailing

/icalendar/
```
from the URL. It should look like this:

https://metalab.at/calendar/event/<some-id>
```
visit that URL

You should see an event detail page that should show you the user who created the event. If not, make sure you are logged in to MOS.
