Was passiert eigentlich mit Kernwaffen?

| Ein Überblick über 70 Jahre Kernwaffen mit dem Fokus auf die zugrundeliegende Physik sowie internationale Politik rund um das Thema. Es geht um moderne Technologie zum Monitoring und zur Erkennung nuklearer Waffen und was jede Einzelne von uns zur nuklearen Abrüstung beitragen kann.
Mit dem Ende des kalten Krieges verblasste auch die Angst vor der unmittelbaren Bedrohung der Atomwaffen. Allerdings sind diese Waffen nie verschwunden. Heute lebt die halbe Weltbevölkerung in Ländern die Atomwaffen besitzen. Ungefähr 15.000 nukleare Sprengköpfe sind in der Hand von neun Nationalstaaten. Jeder einzelne Sprengkopf mit der Sprengkraft eine ganze Stadt zu zerstören. Die meisten internationalen Kernwaffenabkommen konstatieren, daß nur fünf Staaten legal derartige Waffen besitzen dürfen. Allerdings haben sich, in den letzten 50 Jahren, acht weitere Länder derartige Waffen angeeignet. Vier davon sind nun etablierte Atommächte. Wie kam es dazu? Darüber hinaus sind Atomtests durch mehreren internationalen Abkommen geächtet. Ein beachtliches, weltumspannendes Sensornetzwerk mit hunderten seismischen, hydroakustischen und Infrasschallmessstellen sowie Radionuklid-Messtationen wurde errichtet um Atomtests erfassen zu können. Ein internationales Abkommen, unterzeichnet von 183 Staaten, steht kurz vor dem Scheitern. Was genau läuft da ab? Dieser Vortrag zielt darauf ab eine weitreichenden physikalischen, technischen aber auch historischen Überblick über das Thema Kernwaffen zu geben. Dabei wird erläutert wo die internationale Politik steht, aber auch wie der Stand der Technik von Messtechnologien aussieht. Abgerundet wird der Vortrag durch einen Erfahrungsbericht der CTBT: Science and Technology 2017 Conference. |
