The Telefonzelle in front of an [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rutherford_model#Symbolism atomic planetary model] is the central symbol of the [[CI|Metalab corporate identity]], which was created by [[User:C3o|c3o]] during an early [[Logo|logo brain storming]]. Having the Berlin c-base as a role model in mind the founding members thought that sort of a story behind could help to tighten the community spirit.

== Tech ==

[~~http://www.flickr.com/photos/mlcastle/1091971102/#/photos/mlcastle/1091971102/~~ Inside] the ruggedized, ~~coin-operated~~ phone ~~a normal analog telephone set is hidden. It uses only~~ the ~~orignal~~ handset and ~~numeric keypad~~. A SIP ATA connects it with the VoiP account of the lab ~~that can be reached under~~ {{Metalab Telephon Nummer}}. ~~It can be used to call out as well~~ (thanks to telgo.cc).

[[Phone_booth_inside|Inside]] of the ruggedized phone, cables lead down to a VOIP phone, connecting the handset and display. A SIP ATA connects it with the VoiP account of the lab. ({{Metalab Telephon Nummer}}) Outbound calls are also available. (thanks to telgo.cc).

A motion detector turns on the light from about thirty seconds up to a few minutes. Can also be set to continuous mode.

~~A cheap battery operated sensor light has been modified~~ and [~~http://log.metalab.at/post/89723971/A-cheap-battery-operated-sensor-light-has complemented] with~~ [~~[:Datei:Phoneboothlight.png~~|~~a MOSFET and a relay~~]] ~~to switch the fluorescent lamps of the booth. Light stops 30 sec after the last detected movement.~~

== Party mode ==

During parties the SIP server can be switched to an alternate server for entertainment purposes and profit !
