**Look on the lists for a ride that suits you and still offers a seat.
**Ask the driver if you can join in.
**Add your name to the lists.
**Keep in mind that there are separate lists for the trip TO as well as FROM the Camp.
All drivers and passengers are responsible for cost sharing and the like themselves. It's probaby a good idea to share fuel costs and provide the driver with sufficient amounts of caffeine but you have to figure that out yourselves.

Maschinenring

right|300px

Was braucht man
alles was im Karton der im Ofen drin ist dabei ist.
das sollte sein:

* 2 tolle SMD-Pinzetten
* Lötpaste (NICHT ESSEN, HÄNDE WASCHEN, MANTEL TRAGEN!) die ist im KÜHLSCHRANK GANZ UNTEN RECHTS
* 8-teiliges grünes PCB-Einspannbrett
* Kontakt WL Spray
* 2 Spachteln

Papier als Unterlage für unausweichliche Lötpastenpatzerei.

Vorgehen
* fertige dein PCB
* lasercutte die Lötstellen deines PCB s auf eine bedruckbare Overheadfolie (möglichst dünn) Siehe: SMD-Stencils selber machen
* Handschuhe anziehen
* PCB mit Kontakt WL putzen
* PCB auf das grüne Brett einspannen (sprich mit Gaffer fixieren)
* gecuttete Overhead-Folie GENAUESTENS über dem PCB platzieren.
* fixiere die Overhead-Folie mit Gaffer auf dem Brett
* platziere eine Wurst... aus Lötpaste entlang der kurzen Seite deines PCBs
* streiche mit Hilfe der Spachtel bei gleichmässigem Druck und in einem spitzen Winkel vom Anfang des PCBs über die Wurst bis zum Ende des PCBs drüber
** falls nicht alle Stellen Lötpaste abbekommen haben, Schritt wiederholen, wichtig, von Anfang an drüberstreichen.
* vorsichtig die Overhead-Folie lösen und abziehen
* kontrolliere die Lötstellen
* place ALL the Bauteile
* passt alles? dann ab in den Ofen!
** Ober und Unterhitze einschalten
** 230°C
** 60 Minuten
** und finally auf den SOLDER Knopf drücken.
Technische Daten

Good English skills are considered self evident within the Hacker community (and in many other situations as well), but not everyone is as firm with the language as she/he would like to be. Especially when it comes to spoken English, some might appreciate more practicing.
Again we did some exercises regarding passive/active voice. The following text was used as an example:

Lisa: Hello, my name is Lisa, I am from America.. who are you?

Hans: I am Hans, I am from Germany

Lisa: Nice to meet you Hans, what do you do?

Hans: I am flying airplanes I FLY AIRPLANES

Lisa: Really? Right now, you are flying airplanes?

Hans: No, right now I am talking with you

Lisa: Ah, so what do you do for a living?

Hans: For a living, I am flying airplanes

Lisa: For a living, you fly airplanes - thus, you are .. a pilot!

Hans: Yes, I am flying every day

Lisa: Ah, you fly every day?

Hans: That is correct .. but today I fly not, because I am having pause

Lisa: You are not flying today, because you are having a break?

Hans: Yes, thank you for correcting my English .. I am not speaking good English

Lisa: You speak fine English!!

Hans: Usually, I am not speaking good English!

Lisa: Right now, you speak okay English. Tomorrow, you will speak better English!

Hans: Yes, I am wanting to speak better English.

We read an RD helicopter manual with a bad English translation and tried to correct the sentences.
Then, we did some pronunciation exercises and made a list of difficult English words.

We read "Still I rise".

For the next meeting, we plan to read "Douglas Adams - The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy". The first chapter will be discussed on next Tuesday.

2013-01-16
We went through many examples of active and passive voice working our way through “The cat in the hat” book. We intend to continue and repeat this exercise in future meetings. To increase interaction we did this exercise in pairs.
We played a round of Pepi's game that uses the words from this book where each player gets a random word from the book and has to explain this word to the group. This turned out to be both fun and surprisingly hard to formally explain words.

Homework
Prepare an example of correct and incorrect use of active and passive voice that you've encountered recently.

2013-01-08
Around ten people join the meeting. Jay introduces himself as a native English speaker who lives in Europe since ten years. He has some great ideas about what we can do within the workshops: He addresses some common mistakes German-speaking people make when they speak English and offers to help with that. For improving vocabulary, he suggests reading dictionaries.

We make a list of books we intend to read. See also Literature. Jay also suggests that watching films with subtitles can improve language skills.

Jasmin says that she has some material and knows exercises for better pronunciation.

Pepi suggests that playing some games could be helpful, and also there should be some kind of challenge. For example, naming things with their English names when you are out (like in the tram) will improve vocabulary.

We decide to meet again in one week and schedule the next meeting for 2013-01-15 19:00
Georghttps://metalab.at/wiki/index.php?title=Archiv:English_workshop&diff=47237Archiv:English workshop2013-02-12T20:21:19Z
Georg:

We make a list of books we intend to read. See also Literature. Jay also suggests that watching films with subtitles can improve language skills.

Jasmin says that she has some material and knows exercises for better pronunciation.

Pepi suggests that playing some games could be helpful, and also there should be some kind of challenge. For example, naming things with their English names when you are out (like in the tram) will improve vocabulary.

We decide to meet again in one week and schedule the next meeting for 2013-01-15 19:00
Georghttps://metalab.at/wiki/index.php?title=Archiv:English_workshop&diff=46269Archiv:English workshop2013-01-22T22:21:51Z
Georg:

2013-01-22

We decide to meet again in one week and schedule the next meeting for 2013-01-15 19:00
Georghttps://metalab.at/wiki/index.php?title=Archiv:English_workshop&diff=45768Archiv:English workshop2013-01-21T14:50:30Z
Georg:

English workshop
Good English skills are considered self evident within the Hacker community (and in many other situations as well), but not everyone is as firm with the language as she/he would like to be. Especially when it comes to spoken English, some might appreciate more practicing.

If anyone is interested in improving his/her English skills, please attend the English workshop!

How?
We plan to simply meet and talk about random topics in English, as well as reading some English literature. Participants with better knowledge of the language will support others or help to explain the texts read if necessary.

Literature
A list of literature we intend to read and discuss:

Books
* The cat in the hat (by Dr. Seuss)
* How to be an alien (by George Mikes)

Poems
A list of english Poems.
Topics
Ideas of other topics we might talk about:
* Talk about plans going further than a simple workshop (language barrier free-day, language diversity JF)
* Finding more literature and films for the English workshop
* Last year, I held a Git Workshop. It was a basic introduction and we stopped when a discussion about project management and work-flow started. If there is interest, a group discussion about software development work-flow best practices could fit here, too.
* Why is English currently the preferred language for international communication? Why are we all learning English, but not Esperanto?

We decide to meet again in one week and schedule the next meeting for 2013-01-15 19:00
Georghttps://metalab.at/wiki/index.php?title=English_workshop/Meetings&diff=45335English workshop/Meetings2013-01-09T14:00:35Z
Georg:

Good English skills are considered self evident within the Hacker community (and in many other situations as well), but not everyone is as firm with the language as she/he would like to be. Especially when it comes to spoken English, some might appreciate more practicing.

If anyone is interested in improving his/her English skills, please attend the English workshop!

How?
We plan to simply meet and discuss random topics in English, as well as reading some English literature. Participants with better knowledge of the language will support others or help to explain the texts read if necessary.

Topics
Ideas what we might talk about, or what we will read:
* Discuss what we want to discuss ;-)
* Talk about plans going further than a simple workshop (language barrier free-day, language diversity JF)
* Finding literature for the English workshop
